Excellent restaurant. The service was exceptional. The food was amazing. Every dish was memorable from the mushroom, bruschetta the quail, and the gnocchi. The quail was the most exquisite I have ever tasted, and the pulled pork on the inside was so flavorable and smokey. The Magic Mushroom and the bruschetta were so delicious. The vegetables were perfectly cooked and seasoned. The gnocchi was so flavorful. Each dish is perfectly delicious. Large wine selection. Cannot wait to visit this area to come here again. You must try this restaurant. It is worth the travel time.

The place was amazing!! Our server, Rick, took excellent care of us last night. Even though he was double-sat when we fell into his section, I did not feel like an extra burden in any way. Rather, he felt like another member of our party, one with intimate knowledge of the restaurant and its menu, giving us things like a free sample of the carrot soup (which was amazing, btw). The grounds are absolutely stunning, and it makes me wish we could have stayed here, in one of the cabins. That being said, one of the only troubles we had is the bit where we had to wait for our table (and that only because the advertisement we say explicitly stated there is no reason for reservations). True, we did not have reservations but we were still seated within about a half hour on Saturday night, and there was plenty for us to look at in the meantime. It was not a big deal, but it is a comment for the future. Always get the reservation, especially on weekends. Finally, the food. Everything our server recommended was top notch. Of course, I've only been there once, so I can't speak for the whole menu, but what we had was amazing, especially the steak (I had the ten ounce strip), maybe the best steak I've ever had in my life. All in all, the most difficult thing to swallow is maybe the cost of everything, but when you consider the exceptional wait staff, the incredible atmosphere, and the outstanding menu items, I also know these things do not come cheap. My wife and I (we live in the San Antonio area) are already planning our second trip to this excellent establishment(!!)

Celebrated our anniversary. Nice selection of Texas wines. We appreciated the allergy chart provided by the kitchen. We could quickly tell which dishes were safe, which could be modified and which ones we needed to stay away from. The magic mushroom appetizer was very flavorful. We ordered sirloin steak and the flounder. Both were cooked perfectly and we delicious.

Our first time here. The Gin Mill bar was superb, as was the Texas made gin. Then we went to the restaurant where we had an outstanding meal. My Filet Mignon and my wife's grilled shrimp were great. The Filet one of the best I've ever had! We'll definitely be back.

BEST place to eat in Fredericksburg! Every single dish we tried was delicious and well balanced. The drinks were very tasty and reasonably priced. Ask for Edie- she is an amazing server who was so kind and attentive and had great food suggestions. You will not be disappointed!

Chef Ross and his amazing crew never disappoint! Our server Chris was so kind and knowledgeable. Saw some slight changes in the menu since the last time we were able to make it in and they were pleasant changes! Chicken Fried Deviled Eggs. Just sayin.

We had dinner here for my birthday. The staff were fantastic and the food was very good! They gave us a sample of their Roasted Carrot Ancho Chile Soup and it was so good! We also ordered their Honey Butter Drop Biscuits and they were delicious! I would highly recommend Cabernet Grill!

Always wanted to dine at the Cabernet Grill after seeing mentions of it practically everywhere in Hill Country and we're glad we did! The atmosphere is moody and countryside rustic. Wife and I both had a medium-rare ribeye steak while our son enjoyed his pan seared flounder. The entrees were cooked to perfection and we cleaned up our plates. We finished our evening with a warm maple brown butter cake before heading back to Walnut Canyon Cabins. We'll be sure to dine here again when we return to Fredericksburg!
